Armenian MMA fighter of Yazidi origin David Mgoyan (9-1) earned an important victory at the MVP-1 tournament held in California. The 21-year-old athlete defeated former UFC fighter Albert Morales by unanimous decision.

After three rounds, all judges scored the fight in favor of Mgoyan. The scorecards were 29-28, 30-26 and 30-27 for the Armenian fighter.

For Mgoyan, this victory became one of the most significant wins of his career. His opponent was the highly experienced Albert Morales, who has a long professional career behind him and previously competed in the UFC. Despite the status of his opponent, David delivered a bright and confident performance, managed to impose his pace and secured a deserved victory. Arman Tsarukyan was also present in his corner.

After this success, Mgoyan’s professional MMA record improved to 9-1. Morales suffered the 11th defeat of his career, alongside 19 wins and one draw.

MVP-1 was the first event of Jake Paul’s new MMA league and brought together an impressive lineup of fighters and celebrity guests. Big names such as Francis Ngannou, Nate Diaz, Mike Perry and other representatives of the combat sports world were involved around the show.

Against the backdrop of such a high-profile tournament, David Mgoyan’s victory looks especially important. The young Armenian fighter continues to make a strong statement in the United States and takes another major step forward in his career.
