On October 22, in Jakarta (Indonesia), the first final of the 2025 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships took place. Japanese gymnast Daiki Hashimoto reaffirmed his status as the world’s leading gymnast by winning the gold medal in the men’s all-around at the 53rd World Championships held in the Indonesian capital.

The 24-year-old athlete from Narita scored 85.131 points, surpassing China’s Zhang Boheng (84.333) and Switzerland’s Noe Seifert (82.831). For Hashimoto, this marks his fifth world title and second consecutive all-around gold following his victory in Antwerp 2023.

Hashimoto recorded the highest scores on three apparatuses — floor exercise, vault, and horizontal bar — while placing second on the pommel horse and third on the parallel bars. His consistency was evident from the start of the tournament: he led the qualification with 83.065 points.

Seifert was the only non-Asian gymnast in the top five, finishing behind the leaders from Japan and China. He was followed by Shi Cong (China, 82.297) and Shinnosuke Oka (Japan, 81.797).
