The 2026 European U17 Boxing Championships concluded on October 11 in Budva, Montenegro. The tournament featured 26 medal events — 13 each for boys and girls. England topped the overall medal standings, while Armenia finished ninth with three medals.

A total of 104 medals were awarded at the European U17 Championships: 26 gold, 26 silver and 52 bronze. Boxers from 26 countries reached the podium.

Armenia Win Three Medals at the European U17 Championships

The Armenian national team finished the tournament with one gold, one silver and one bronze medal. All three medals were won in the boys' competition.

Hakob Sharbatyan became European champion in the 50 kg weight category, defeating Romania's Alexandru Butan in a closely contested final by a 3–2 split decision.

Romik Harutyunyan claimed the silver medal in the 66 kg division. In the final, the Armenian boxer lost 4–1 to Italy's Raul Barone.

Eduard Karamyan secured Armenia's third medal, taking bronze in the 52 kg weight category.

As a result, Armenia finished ninth in the overall medal standings at the European U17 Championships.

European U17 Boxing Championships 2026: All Boys' Champions and Final Results

Thirteen gold medals were awarded in the boys' competition. England enjoyed the most success, winning three finals, while Russia claimed two gold medals.

  • 46 kg: Cristi Casu (Romania) defeated Hasrat Mammadov (Azerbaijan) — 5–0.

  • 48 kg: Akmal Dustiev (Russia) defeated Alexandros Konstantinidis (Greece) — 5–0.

  • 50 kg: Hakob Sharbatyan (Armenia) defeated Alexandru Butan (Romania) — 3–2.

  • 52 kg: Shiloh McLeod (England) defeated Ismail Nasirzade (Azerbaijan) — 5–0.

  • 54 kg: Strahinja Mrdak (Montenegro) defeated Matvey Zaitsev (Russia) — 5–0.

  • 57 kg: Muhammadali Istamov (Azerbaijan) defeated John Ilam (England) — 4–1.

  • 60 kg: Charlie Keith (England) defeated Alexandru-Achile Buhaniuc (Moldova) — 4–1.

  • 63 kg: Nikoloz Khizanishvili (Georgia) defeated Magomed Gadzhiev (Russia) — 4–1.

  • 66 kg: Raul Barone (Italy) defeated Romik Harutyunyan (Armenia) — 4–1.

  • 70 kg: Paddy Nevin (Ireland) defeated Oliwier Piotrowski (Poland) — 5–0.

  • 75 kg: Ivor Lee (England) defeated Thomas O'Reilly (Ireland) — 3–2.

  • 80 kg: Sergey Kurochkin (Russia) defeated Daniel Garcia Serrano (Spain) — 5–0.

  • Over 80 kg: Dmytro Kasianenko (Ukraine) defeated Abdullah Vashaev (Russia) — 5–0.

All boys' finals were decided on points by the judges.

European U17 Boxing Championships 2026: All Girls' Champions

England also dominated the girls' competition in terms of gold medals, winning four weight categories. Russia and Turkey each claimed two European titles.

All winners of the girls' competition at the European U17 Championships:

  • 46 kg: Summer Grigg (England).

  • 48 kg: Elizaveta Taratynova (Russia).

  • 50 kg: Lilly Green (England).

  • 52 kg: Cara Young (Scotland).

  • 54 kg: Letitia McKee (England).

  • 57 kg: Jamilya Muradli (Azerbaijan).

  • 60 kg: Daria Sazhina (Russia).

  • 63 kg: Dimitra Karpozilou (Greece).

  • 66 kg: Ada Eybey (Turkey).

  • 70 kg: Emily Denham (England).

  • 75 kg: Masal Ece Buruk (Turkey).

  • 80 kg: Diana Polishchuk (Ukraine).

  • Over 80 kg: Kristina Bodnar (Hungary).

European U17 Boxing Championships 2026: Final Medal Table

England topped the final medal standings with seven gold, two silver and one bronze medal.

Russia won the highest total number of medals — 13 — but finished second with four gold medals. Ukraine placed third with ten medals, including two golds.

In total, 26 of the 40 participating national teams won medals at the European U17 Boxing Championships.

Armenia finished among Europe's top ten national teams, securing three medals. The Armenian team's biggest achievement was Hakob Sharbatyan's European title, complemented by Romik Harutyunyan's silver and Eduard Karamyan's bronze.
