Barseghyan named best player in Slovan vs Celje Champions League match

Slovan drew with Slovenian side Celje in their first home match of the Champions League playoff round. The game ended 1-1.

The hosts took the lead in the 15th minute thanks to a goal from new signing Roman Čerepkai. Tigran Barseghyan was also involved in the build-up to the goal, providing the pre-assist. Milot Avdili equalized in the 41st minute.

Barseghyan spent 84 minutes on the pitch and received the highest SofaScore rating of the match — 8.2.

The Armenian winger was one of Slovan’s most active attacking players. He made seven key passes and created one big chance. Remarkably, Barseghyan completed only 20 passes in the entire match, with more than a third of them leading to shots by his teammates.

The Armenia international also completed three of his four dribble attempts and won eight of 12 duels.

As a reminder, Celje eliminated Ararat-Armenia in the third qualifying round.
