Slovan Bratislava and Belgrade’s Crvena Zvezda played a friendly match during their training camp in Austria. The game, held in Windischgarsten, ended in a 1-1 draw.
Armenia national team defender Nair Tiknizyan played the first half for the Serbian club. Former Armenia captain Tigran Barseghyan started the match on the bench and came on after the break.
Barseghyan was one of the key figures in Slovan’s goalscoring attack late in the match. In the 87th minute, he provided an assist for Peter Pokorny, who equalized with a beautiful strike.
Crvena Zvezda had taken the lead in the 81st minute through Aleksandar Katai, but the Serbian side failed to hold on to the win.
For Barseghyan, this was his first goal contribution under Slovan’s new head coach Yaya Toure.
The Bratislava club will play its next friendly match on July 4 against Hungarian side Puskas Akademia, where another Armenian footballer, Georgiy Harutyunyan, plays.
