Spanish outlet AS has assessed Armenia international midfielder Edgar Sevikyan’s debut for Ceuta.
The Armenian footballer made his first appearance for his new club in the away match against Burgos in Matchday 5 of the 2026/27 Spanish Segunda División season. Sevikyan was named in the starting lineup and played 71 minutes, but Ceuta suffered a 3-1 defeat.
After the match, AS analyzed the performances of Ceuta’s players, paying particular attention to the 25-year-old Armenia international. According to the Spanish publication, Sevikyan was unable to fully showcase his strengths in his first appearance for the club.
The report noted that the Armenian midfielder rarely received the ball in areas where he could create danger near the opposition goal, while his influence on Ceuta’s attacking play gradually diminished as the match progressed.
Among Ceuta’s players, the publication particularly highlighted Álex Camacho, praising his persistence and activity. Kuki Zalazar also received a positive assessment for his performance.
At the same time, the journalists stressed that Ceuta produced some promising spells and did many things well during the game, but once again struggled in the final phase of their attacks. The team lacked efficiency inside the opposition penalty area and, in several situations, also lacked a bit of luck.
As a reminder, Edgar Sevikyan joined Ceuta on loan from Hungarian club Ferencváros. After five rounds of the new season, the Spanish side are yet to collect a point and remain at the bottom of the Segunda División standings.
