Harutyun Hovhannisyan – European U17 Weightlifting Champion in the +94 kg category

The Armenian weightlifter won gold at the 2025 Youth European Championships held in Madrid. In the snatch, Hovhannisyan took first place, setting a European youth record of 160 kg, and in the clean and jerk, he finished second, lifting 186 kg — the same result as Georgia’s Jaba Tkheshelashvili.
With a total of 346 kg (160+186), Harutyun Hovhannisyan confidently became the European champion, bringing Armenia its second major gold medal on the final day of the tournament.
