Former Armenian national team player and ex-head coach of Armenia’s youth teams, Artur Voskanian, published a post on social media expressing his support for the captain of the Armenian national team, Tigran Barseghyan.
“We all can make mistakes, and Tigran Barseghyan is no exception. Football is a game where everyone can make mistakes, and indeed they do and will continue to do so. Often, mistakes in football go unnoticed because it’s a team sport, and teammates frequently correct each other’s errors. Just as Tigran has often helped his teammates in many matches, that day Henry Avagyan corrected several mistakes made by others. We must respect, appreciate, and never forget Tigran’s years of dedication and service to our national team,” Voskanian wrote.
Let us remind that during the 4th round of the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers (European Zone, Group F) between Ireland and Armenia (1:0), Tigran Barseghyan was shown a red card in the 52nd minute for headbutting opponent Finn Azaz near the sideline.
