Artak Oseyan leaves Pyunik head coach role after conflict with Dmitry Selyuk

Pyunik FC has officially announced the end of its cooperation with head coach Artak Oseyan. The parties have mutually agreed to terminate the existing contract.

Oseyan is leaving the club together with his entire coaching staff, including assistant coaches Artur Mkrtchyan and Gor Malakyan, as well as goalkeeping coach Gurgen Hakobyan.

The club's official statement reads:

"Pyunik Football Club and the team's head coach Artak Oseyan have mutually agreed to terminate the current contract.

As part of the termination of cooperation with Artak Oseyan, assistant coaches Artur Mkrtchyan and Gor Malakyan, as well as goalkeeping coach Gurgen Hakobyan, are also leaving Pyunik.

FC Pyunik thanks Artak Oseyan and his coaching staff for their work at the club and their dedication. We appreciate the time, energy and effort they invested in the development of Pyunik, achieving the team's objectives and the club's performances."

Oseyan's departure comes just days after his public dispute with the club's newly appointed sporting advisor to the general director, Dmitry Selyuk.

The disagreement centered on potential transfers. Oseyan insisted that no player could join Pyunik without the head coach's approval, expressing dissatisfaction with media reports about possible new signings.

In response, Dmitry Selyuk issued a firm statement, stressing that transfer and personnel decisions are made by the club's management.

"People who do not want to work by our rules will not work at the club. If Oseyan does not work by our rules, then he will not be at Pyunik. At Pyunik, the club makes all the decisions," Selyuk said.

Following this public confrontation, Oseyan's future at the club came into question, and his departure has now been officially confirmed.

Pyunik has not yet announced who will become the club's new head coach.
