A public conflict has erupted at Pyunik between the club's sporting advisor to the CEO, Dmitry Selyuk, and head coach Artak Oseyan.
The disagreement stems from reports about potential new signings for the Yerevan-based club. Earlier, it was reported that Selyuk intends to bring midfielder Alisher Rakhimov and defender Tinde Teribe to Pyunik. Following those reports, Artak Oseyan told Suren Meliksetyan that he was not prepared to accept such an approach to squad building.
"Of course, I am also concerned by the rumors circulating online over the past two days. I hope they are not true because Pyunik has always been very professional in such matters. I hope it will remain that way.
I can say one thing: as long as I am the head coach of Pyunik, no player can join our team without my approval."
Dmitry Selyuk responded immediately with a very firm statement.
"People who do not want to work under our rules will not work at the club. If Oseyan is unwilling to work according to our rules, then he will not remain at Pyunik.
At Pyunik, the club will make all decisions, and instructions will come from above. The coach comes to train the team, develop the players, and conduct the training process. But when someone starts making demands or trying to blackmail us, we will not tolerate it," Selyuk was quoted as saying by the InsideYAN Telegram channel.
The confrontation between the club's management and the head coach has now become public. Following such uncompromising statements, Oseyan's future at Pyunik has come under serious doubt.
It should be noted that Dmitry Selyuk only recently joined Pyunik as the sporting advisor to the club's CEO. Before that, he was widely known as a football agent representing numerous players.
According to media reports, Alisher Rakhimov and Tinde Teribe are among the club's potential new signings, although neither transfer has been officially confirmed.
