Summary
The past week was one of the busiest and most successful for Armenian sports in 2026. Medals at the European Wrestling and Weightlifting Championships, silver at the Boxing World Cup, and gold at the European Youth Sambo Championship demonstrated the strong potential of Armenia’s national teams.
These results are especially important with Olympic qualification approaching. As early as the summer of 2026, the qualification stage will begin in judo; in autumn, in weightlifting; and from 2027, in wrestling. The situation in boxing is still unknown. For Armenian athletes, this means that a period lies ahead in which consistency, form, and health will be decisive.
