Armenian Wushu Athletes Win 19 Medals at European Championship in Greece
From April 30 to May 4, 2025, the 8th European Traditional Wushu Championship was held in Heraklion, Greece. Athletes from dozens of countries across the continent participated, including the Armenian national team, represented by the Armenian Traditional Wushu Federation. The Armenian delegation consisted of 29 participants.
The Armenian athletes achieved impressive results, winning a total of 19 medals — 10 in the adult category and 9 in the youth category.

In the Shaolin Fan discipline among adults, Tanya Ohanesyan won a silver medal.
Sanda (Combat Competitions)
In the adult division, Armenian fighters performed exceptionally, winning 6 gold, 2 silver, and 1 bronze medal:

The team was led by Federation President Rustam Alaverdyan. The referee team included Aram Aydinyan (Taolu) and Gor Terzikyan (Sanda). The coaching staff consisted of Mushegh Hayrapetyan (head coach of adults), Gevorg Alikhanyan (head coach of the youth team), and Manuk Manukyan (assistant coach). They were assisted by coaches Albert Bazeyan, Karapet Tevosyan, and Taron Ghazaryan.
During the competition, the Armenian team was visited by a priest of the Armenian Apostolic Church of Crete.
