'On June 26, the 2025 European Freestyle Wrestling Championship for U15 athletes concluded in Caorle, Italy. Team Armenia, which competed with 13 wrestlers, won five medals: 1 gold, 2 silver, and 3 bronze.

The only champion in the Armenian squad was Erik Papikyan (57 kg), who defeated his teammate Tigran Kolotyan in the final with a score of 6:2. Notably, both Armenian wrestlers defeated Azerbaijani opponents in the semifinals.

In this tournament, countries could field two athletes in three weight classes, but only Armenia managed to have both of its athletes reach the final in the same weight category.

Another silver medal was won by Artur Mkrtchyan (75 kg), while bronze medals went to Aren Piruzyan (44 kg), Aren Mirzoyan (52 kg), and Hamlet Antonyan (62 kg).

Just two weeks ago, Aren Piruzyan earned bronze at the U17 European Championship, and now he has placed third again, this time in a younger age group.

In the team standings, Azerbaijan took first place with two gold medals. Armenia came in second, and Ukraine took third.

The Russian team, despite winning five gold medals, was not allowed to participate in the team rankings.
