The Armenia national team will be drawn in the UEFA Nations League 2026/27, placed in Pot 2 of League C. This means that the team will avoid facing the two strongest national sides in this league — Finland and Slovakia, which are in Pot 1. Armenia also will not face Bulgaria, which is in the same Pot 2.
Being drawn into Pot 2 is a positive result, increasing the team’s chances for a successful performance and possible promotion to League B.
One potentially interesting draw scenario could look like this: Kazakhstan, Armenia, Belarus, and Moldova — a fairly balanced group without a clear favorite, but with high interest for fans across the post-Soviet space.
According to the official pot allocation, in Pot 1 of League C are Iceland, Albania, Montenegro, and Kazakhstan — these are the teams Armenia might compete against for promotion to League B. Among them, the most dangerous opponents could be considered Albania and Iceland, which have shown solid form in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

The draw for the tournament will take place in early 2026, and the group stage matches will be held from September to November 2026. In March 2027, there will be play-off matches between leagues, and the finals tournament will take place in summer 2027.
The results of the 2026/27 Nations League will directly influence pot distribution for the draw of the European Championship 2028 qualifiers. In addition, group winners will gain an additional chance to reach Euro through play-offs if they fail to qualify directly. Thus, the fight for the top of the group will be especially important.
Let us remind that the current holder of the title is Portugal, having won the 2025 Nations League final.
In the previous edition, the Armenia national team played in a group with North Macedonia, the Faroe Islands, and Latvia, finishing in second place. North Macedonia won that group and secured promotion to League B.
