Armenia rout Andorra in EuroBasket U16 opener in Yerevan

Armenia’s U16 national team made a confident start at the FIBA U16 EuroBasket Division C, which is taking place in Yerevan. In their opening game of the tournament, the Armenian team defeated Andorra 98:62.
The main hero of the game was Ethan Leonardo Kazanjian. The basketball player from the United States scored 30 points, making 12 of his 21 field-goal attempts. He also added 5 assists and 3 steals to his stat line.
Another U.S.-based player in Armenia’s squad, Anthony Sarkisian, recorded a double-double with 22 points and 11 rebounds. He also made 4 steals and was one of the most efficient players of the game.
Dmitry Khadjyan from Russia also made a notable contribution, scoring 12 points and providing 7 assists. In addition, the Armenian team showed excellent team play: Armenia finished with 33 assists and was very active defensively, making 20 steals.
One of the key factors behind the victory was Armenia’s perimeter shooting. The team made 12 three-pointers with 44% accuracy, which helped them quickly build a comfortable lead and confidently bring the game to a winning finish.

Armenia will play their next game on July 5 against Gibraltar. The FIBA U16 EuroBasket Division C is being held in Yerevan from July 4 to 12.
In the other games of the day, Malta defeated Monaco 107:73, while Kosovo beat Moldova 75:58.
