Two important draws took place at UEFA headquarters in Nyon, determining the future path of European U-17 national teams in two different European Championship cycles — 2025/26 (Round 2) and 2026/27 (Round 1). Both competitions concern Armenia’s national team, and one of the draws granted the country the right to host an international mini-tournament.
Euro-2026/27 (U-17): Armenia to host Group 10 matches of Round 1
In the first-round draw of the 2026/27 U-17 European Championship qualifiers, Armenia was placed in Group 10 together with:
-
France
-
Italy
-
Luxembourg
-
Armenia

UEFA decided that Armenia will host the Group 10 mini-tournament — an important milestone for the national federation and a significant advantage for the youth team.
Match dates
The matches will take place 11–17 November 2026, within UEFA’s official window for Round 1 tournaments (1 July – 17 November).
Format and progression
-
1st & 2nd place — advance to League A of Round 2
-
3rd & 4th place — move to League B of Round 2
In spring 2027, League A will determine seven teams that will join Latvia — the host of the Euro-2026/27 final tournament.
Additionally, this cycle will serve as Europe’s main qualifying path for the 2027 FIFA U-17 World Cup in Qatar.
Euro-2025/26 (U-17): Round 2 draw — Armenia in Group B5
UEFA also conducted the Round 2 draw for Euro-2025/26, where teams were allocated to Leagues A and B based on their Round 1 results.
Armenia was placed in League B, Group B5, alongside:
-
Hungary
-
Luxembourg
-
Liechtenstein
-
Armenia
The dates for League B mini-tournaments will be set by the associations, but UEFA has established a general deadline: until 30 June 2026 (groups involving Estonia must play before 31 March).
Group winners in League B will compete for promotion to League A next cycle, while League A will determine the participants of the final tournament, which will take place in Estonia in the 2025/26 season.
Thus, both draws give Armenia a notable role on the international stage:
-
In the 2026/27 cycle, Armenia will host a mini-tournament and face European giants France and Italy.
-
In the 2025/26 cycle, the team continues its fight in League B for promotion and a chance to get closer to the final stage.
