Andranik Martirosyan Wins International Boxing Tournament in Belgrade

Armenian boxer Andranik Martirosyan became the winner of a prestigious international tournament in Belgrade, where representatives of 24 countries competed for medals. The tournament brought together a strong field of participants, including champions and medalists of world and Olympic competitions.

Martirosyan, competing in the 65 kg weight category, confidently made his way through the tournament and claimed a convincing victory in the final against Bulgarian boxer Victorio Iliev. The Armenian athlete’s opponent is the 2023 European U23 champion, which makes Martirosyan’s success especially valuable.

For Andranik, who is also a European U23 champion, this result became another confirmation of his high level and steady progress on the international stage. In the decisive bout, the Armenian boxer acted confidently, had a clear advantage and brought the fight to victory.

Other representatives of Armenia also performed successfully in Belgrade. Erik Arstamyan, Marat Mikaelyan and Rafael Hovhannisyan became bronze medalists of the tournament, adding to the Armenian team’s medal tally.
