Hrachya Gambaryan, the agent of Armenia national team midfielder Narek Grigoryan, has explained why the 25-year-old has not been included in Romanian club Farul’s matchday squad for more than a month.
According to the agent, the situation is related to the player’s contract and a potential transfer.
“Narek’s contract with Farul was due to expire in June this year, but the club had the option to extend it for another year by improving certain terms. Farul exercised that option.
“Grigoryan was then offered a new, longer-term contract that would have come into effect in 2027. We decided to reject it because we did not consider the offer appropriate.
“The very next day, the club decided that they wanted to sell Narek immediately. At the same time, they decided not to give Grigoryan any playing time.
“Narek is not injured and trains every day.
“Negotiations over a transfer are currently taking place with clubs from several countries,” Libero quoted Gambaryan as saying.
Grigoryan has made just one appearance in the Romanian league this season, playing in the opening round against Universitatea Cluj. The Armenia international winger was left out of Farul’s squad for each of the following five rounds.
