October 20, 2026: Armenia — Hungary
November 7, 2026: Sweden — Armenia
December 9, 2026: Armenia — Sweden
February 27, 2027: Sweden — Hungary
March 3, 2027: Hungary — Armenia

A total of 36 teams will take part in the main qualifying round, divided into 12 groups of three. All group winners will qualify directly for the elite round, where they will be joined by the four best runners-up.
The remaining eight runners-up will compete in the play-offs, which will determine the final four participants in the elite round. As a result, 20 national teams will continue their bid to qualify for the World Cup.
In the elite round, European teams will compete for seven places at the 2028 World Cup. Five berths will go to the group winners, while two more will be decided through the play-offs.
The host country of the 2028 World Cup has not yet been determined. If the tournament is hosted by a European nation, the host team will qualify automatically, while six UEFA representatives will secure their places through qualifying. In that case, the two best runners-up will compete in the elite-round play-offs.
Armenia previously made its European Championship debut at UEFA Futsal EURO 2026 and reached the knockout stage. Thanks to that result, the team received a bye through the preliminary round of 2028 World Cup qualifying and earned the right to enter the competition directly in the main round.
