Armenia announces preliminary squad for U20 World Wrestling Championships

The preliminary Armenian national team roster has been announced for the U20 World Wrestling Championships, which will take place in Bratislava from August 16 to 23, 2026.
Armenia will be represented in all ten Greco-Roman weight categories. Eight Armenian wrestlers will compete in freestyle, while the country will have one representative in women’s wrestling.
Greco-Roman wrestling
- 55 kg — Edgar Petrosyan
- 60 kg — Marat Achemyan
- 63 kg — Alex Margaryan
- 67 kg — Yurik Mkhitaryan
- 72 kg — Gor Khachatryan
- 77 kg — Samvel Terteryan
- 82 kg — Vahe Ohanesyan
- 87 kg — Yurik Petrosyan
- 97 kg — Erik Ter-Matevosyan
- 130 kg — Seyran Kirakosyan
At the 2026 U20 European Championships, Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling team finished second in the team standings and won four medals: one gold, two silver and one bronze.
Samvel Terteryan became European champion, Edgar Petrosyan and Alex Margaryan won silver medals, while Yurik Petrosyan claimed bronze.

Armenia currently has no wrestlers included in the preliminary roster in the 92 kg and 97 kg weight categories.
At the U20 European Championships, Armenia’s freestyle wrestling team finished third in the team standings. The Armenian wrestlers won six medals: two silver and four bronze.
Aren Hayrapetyan and Razmik Yepremyan won silver medals. Sasha Petrosyan, Gagik Ghazaryan, Narek Nikoghosyan and Henrik Haykyan claimed bronze.
Women’s wrestling
- 50 kg — Serine Diana Crane
Serine Diana Crane finished 14th at the U20 European Championships.
The announced Armenian national team roster is preliminary and may be changed before the start of the World Championships.
