Rex Kalamian joins Chicago Bulls coaching staff

Armenia men’s national basketball team head coach Rex Kalamian will continue his career with one of the NBA’s most famous franchises. The specialist has been appointed as an assistant coach of the Chicago Bulls.

Kalamian will join the staff of the Chicago team’s new head coach, Tiago Splitter. Jonah Herscu and Blake Ahearn are also set to become assistant coaches. HoopsHype reporter Michael Scotto reported the upcoming changes to the Bulls’ coaching staff.

The Armenian-American coach has more than 30 years of experience in the NBA. During his career, he has worked on the coaching staffs of the Milwaukee Bucks, Detroit Pistons, Sacramento Kings, Los Angeles Clippers, Toronto Raptors, Oklahoma City Thunder, Minnesota Timberwolves and Denver Nuggets.

Kalamian most recently worked for the Milwaukee Bucks, where he served as an assistant to head coach Doc Rivers.

At the same time, Kalamian will continue to combine his work in the NBA with his role as head coach of the Armenian national team. He has been in charge of Armenia’s men’s national team since 2022.

As a member of the Chicago Bulls’ coaching staff, Kalamian will help prepare the team for the 2026/27 NBA season.
