Official: Mark Gevorgyan signs a two-year contract with 1860 Munich

Armenian footballer Mark Gevorgyan will continue his career in Germany. The 20-year-old has signed a two-year contract with 1860 Munich, who will compete in the Regionalliga Bayern, the fourth tier of German football, in the new season.

Mark’s twin brother, Mike Gevorgyan, previously represented the Munich-based club.

Mark Gevorgyan began his career in the youth academy of TSV 1860 Rosenheim before joining Austrian side Liefering and later moving into the Red Bull Salzburg system. He made 12 appearances for Salzburg in the UEFA Youth League, in addition to featuring in other competitions.

In 2022, Gevorgyan returned to Liefering, Salzburg’s partner club, where he took his first steps in senior football. He made 35 appearances in Austria’s second division.

In the summer of 2024, the footballer moved to Hannover 96. He made two appearances for the club’s reserve team in Germany’s 3. Liga and later played in the Regionalliga Nord following the team’s relegation.

Gevorgyan can operate on either flank in both defence and attack. At international level, he made five appearances for Germany’s under-17 national team and represented Armenia’s under-21 side in 2025.

“Mark joined our training sessions as a trialist last week. Afterwards, the coaching staff and sporting director were convinced that we wanted to offer him a contract. I am very pleased that we were able to reach an agreement and that Mark will now become a permanent member of our team,” said Thomas Probst, managing director of TSV München von 1860 Spielbetriebs-GmbH.

The player also commented on his transfer.

“I am delighted that the move to TSV 1860 München has been completed. It is great to be closer to home again. For me, it now means working hard and showing in every training session and every match that I want to help the Lions,” Gevorgyan said.
