Noah Calls on the Football Federation of Armenia to Ensure a Fair Championship

Noah Football Club has issued an official statement addressed to the leadership of the Football Federation of Armenia, the Refereeing Committee, disciplinary bodies and other responsible FFA departments.

The club recalled that throughout the previous season it had repeatedly raised concerns, both publicly and through official correspondence, regarding refereeing, match organization and the application of disciplinary and ethical procedures.

According to Noah, a number of decisions raised legitimate questions about consistency, objectivity and equal treatment of all participants in the competition.

The club also referred to recent changes within the leadership of Armenian football, including the resignation of FFA Vice-President Armen Nikoghosyan and FFA President Armen Melikbekyan’s announcement that he would not seek re-election.

Noah believes that under these circumstances it is especially important for the new season to begin in an atmosphere of fair competition, independence and mutual trust.

The club stressed that it has never demanded privileges or special treatment. Noah’s only expectation is an equal, objective and predictable approach towards all teams, in full compliance with the applicable regulations and the principles of sporting fairness.

The statement also highlighted the matches officiated by foreign referees during the previous season. Following the concerns raised by the club, foreign officials were appointed for three matches involving Noah.

The team recorded two convincing victories in those games, while the third match ended in a draw. In two of the three fixtures, Noah’s players did not receive a single yellow card — something the club described as exceptional given the overall pattern of the season.

At the same time, Noah expressed confidence that Armenian referees have the potential to officiate matches at the same high standard.

The club also welcomed the fact that all four Armenian representatives competed in the second qualifying round of European club competitions, describing it as a shared achievement for Armenian club football.

The statement noted that Armenian clubs and referees should aim for a stronger presence on the international stage. Noah hopes to see Armenian officials represented in UEFA’s higher refereeing categories and appointed to important matches in the Champions League, Europa League and Conference League.

According to the club, a strong and credible domestic championship provides the best foundation for the international success of Armenian teams and referees, while also serving as an essential pillar for the development of the national team.

Ahead of the new season, Noah called for all processes related to refereeing, match organization, disciplinary matters and ethics to be conducted in strict accordance with the applicable regulations and the principles of UEFA and FIFA.

The club expects full objectivity, consistency, transparency and independence in decision-making.

“Our goal is to have a competitive and fair championship in which sporting results are determined exclusively on the pitch and not by any influence outside it,” the statement said.

In conclusion, Noah called on all responsible officials to act with the highest levels of professionalism, independence, impartiality and accountability from the first match of the season until the last.

“Fairness is not a request or a privilege. It is a fundamental obligation of every competition organizer and an inalienable right of every club,” Noah emphasized.
