Canada and the United States begin their home World Cup 2026 campaign: two more opening ceremonies to take place today

Today, June 12, two more host nations of the FIFA World Cup 2026 — Canada and the United States — will enter the tournament. After the opening match in Mexico City, fans will see two more opening ceremonies: first in Toronto and then in Inglewood.

Canada will be the first to take the field, facing Bosnia and Herzegovina in Toronto. The match will kick off at 23:00 Yerevan time. It will be a special evening for the Canadians, as the team plays its first match at a home World Cup and will try to start the tournament with a victory.

Later, the United States will begin its World Cup 2026 campaign. The Americans will face Paraguay in Inglewood, with the match scheduled to kick off at 05:00 Yerevan time. Before the game, the opening ceremony for the American part of the tournament will also take place.

For Armenian fans, the USA — Paraguay match is also interesting because of the possible appearance of Max Arfsten. The US national team player has Armenian roots and could become one of the footballers followed especially closely in Armenia during this World Cup.
