Henrikh Mkhitaryan confirms he will sign a new one-year contract with Inter

Inter Milan midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan has confirmed that he will continue playing for the Italian club for one more season.

The 37-year-old footballer made the statement on June 19 in Yerevan during a meeting with the players of the Pyunik academy. Mkhitaryan noted that he has not yet made a final decision about ending his career, but intends to spend another season at a high level.

“I will play one more season, after which I will see whether to end my career or not. I don’t know what I will do after my football career. There are many options, but I still need to think in order to find the best decision,” Mkhitaryan said in an interview with sports commentator Gevorg Malakyan.

According to the former captain of the Armenia national team, he does not want to stop halfway and wants to finish what he has started.

“I cannot allow myself to stop halfway and not complete everything I have started. I want to finish on a high note and I hope that I will play for one more year, after which everything will become clear,” Mkhitaryan said.

During the meeting at the Pyunik academy, Mkhitaryan also spoke with young footballers about the importance of discipline and hard work. He emphasized that talent alone is not enough to achieve results.

The footballer added that there were also doubts and disappointments in his career, but they did not last long. After setbacks, Mkhitaryan found the strength to keep working and turn difficult moments into new successes.

Henrikh Mkhitaryan has been playing for Inter since 2022. With the Milan club, he has won the Serie A title, the Coppa Italia and the Italian Super Cup, and has also reached the Champions League final.
