Armenia international Edgar Sevikyan featured for Ferencváros in a friendly against Real Madrid on his birthday.
The match took place on August 8 at the Groupama Arena in Budapest and ended in a 2-1 victory for the Spanish club.
Sevikyan came on in the second half, replacing Jonathan Levi in the 78th minute. The Armenian midfielder had a chance to score late in the game, but his effort went wide.
After the match, Sevikyan admitted that getting the opportunity to play against a team of such stature was the best birthday present he could have received.
Ferencváros had cleared the weekend specifically for the friendly against Real Madrid, with the club’s Hungarian league fixture being postponed.
Sevikyan’s team will return to action on August 13, when Ferencváros face Poland’s Górnik in the second leg of their Europa League qualifying tie. The Hungarian side won the first match 1-0.
