Artak Oseyan: “We Have a Real Chance of Reaching the Next Round”

Pyunik Yerevan head coach Artak Oseyan commented on his team’s defeat to Hungarian side Debrecen in the first leg of the UEFA Conference League second qualifying round.

The match in Hungary ended in a narrow 1–0 victory for the hosts. According to the Pyunik head coach, the game was evenly contested, while his team created enough chances to avoid defeat.

“I believe it was a completely even game. The initiative shifted from one team to the other at different stages. We created many goalscoring opportunities and could have avoided defeat. In any case, I still believe the chances in this tie are 50–50. We have a real opportunity to reach the next round,” Oseyan said.

The head coach also highlighted the players’ confidence ahead of the return leg.

“After the match, I saw confidence in the players’ eyes in the dressing room. They know that we can reach the next round,” he added.

The second leg between Pyunik and Debrecen will take place in Yerevan on July 30.
