Alexander Kovalenko scores first goal for Lokomotiv (VIDEO)

Lokomotiv Moscow midfielder Alexander Kovalenko, who is a candidate for the Armenian national team, has scored his first goal for his new club.
Kovalenko found the net in a friendly match against Akron. The 22-year-old scored Lokomotiv’s second goal in the first half as the Moscow side secured a convincing 3-0 victory.
Alexander Kovalenko joined Lokomotiv on loan from Sochi in the summer of 2026. The agreement also includes an option to make the transfer permanent.
The midfielder also received an Armenian passport this summer and is now eligible to represent Armenia, the homeland of his parents. Kovalenko is expected to be available for the Armenian national team’s matches in the 2026/27 UEFA Nations League.
