Women's Pyunik to face Wrexham in Champions League qualifying

Women's Pyunik have learned their first opponent in the 2026/27 UEFA Women's Champions League qualifying round. The Armenian champions will begin their campaign with a match against Welsh side Wrexham.

The draw for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women's Champions League took place on June 18 in Nyon. As a result, Pyunik were placed in a mini-tournament where they will face the women's team of Wrexham in the semi-final.

In recent years, Wrexham have become one of the most recognizable clubs in world football thanks to owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney. The match between Pyunik and Wrexham will take place on July 22. The winner of this tie will advance to the mini-tournament final, where they will face the winner of the match between Glentoran of Northern Ireland and Riga of Latvia.

The final of the mini-tournament and the third-place match will be played on July 25. Only the winner of the mini-tournament will advance to the next stage of Women's Champions League qualifying.
