On June 28, the U15 European Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship concluded in Caorle, Italy. Team Armenia achieved an outstanding result, finishing second in the team standings with 125 points — behind only Azerbaijan (131) and ahead of Georgia (99).
Young Armenian wrestlers won one gold, three silver, and two bronze medals, once again demonstrating the strength of the Armenian wrestling school. The team’s sole champion was Aram Sargsyan in the 68 kg category.
Russia earned three gold, one silver, and four bronze medals, but did not compete in the team standings. As a result, Azerbaijan was declared the team winner with just one gold medal.
It’s worth noting that just two days earlier, Armenia also placed second in the freestyle wrestling tournament.
