Yurik Mkhitaryan wins bronze at U20 Greco-Roman Wrestling World Championships

Armenian Greco-Roman wrestler Yurik Mkhitaryan (67 kg) won a bronze medal at the U20 World Championships in Bratislava.

In the bronze-medal bout, Mkhitaryan faced Iran’s Ilya Alikhani and secured an early victory by pinning his opponent.

The medal became Team Armenia’s third medal at the tournament. Earlier, Samvel Terteryan (77 kg) won gold to become world champion, while Yurik Petrosyan (87 kg) claimed the silver medal.

For Mkhitaryan, this is already his second medal at the U20 World Championships. In 2025, the Armenian wrestler won silver, and in Bratislava he added a bronze medal to his collection.
