On June 7 in Bangkok, a professional boxing night took place, during which Armenian boxer Yuri Sakunts (18-0, 16 KOs) captured the WBC Asia middleweight championship belt.
The undefeated Armenian faced local boxer Padyod Kiatcharoensiri (6-5). The fight ended in the second round — Sakunts secured a confident knockout victory, marking the sixteenth early win of his career.
Thus, the 28-year-old Sakunts claimed his first regional title and continues his rapid ascent in the global middleweight rankings.
