Armenian basketball player Yura Melikyan made his second appearance in this season’s EuroCup.
In the second round of the competition, Bulgarian side Balkan, which Melikyan represents in European competitions, faced Turkish club Bahcesehir. The Istanbul-based team claimed a convincing 101-60 victory.
The Armenian center started the game on the bench and spent around 7 minutes on the court. Melikyan scored 2 points, making one of his three field-goal attempts, and also grabbed 1 rebound.
It was the 20-year-old’s second appearance in the current EuroCup campaign. In the opening round against German side Ulm, Melikyan played 17 minutes, recording 4 points, 8 rebounds and one assist.
Melikyan represents Balkan only in European competitions, while in the Bulgarian domestic championship he will play for Botev 2012.
The Armenian basketball player could make his debut for his new team as early as October 10. Interestingly, Botev 2012’s first opponent will be Balkan — the same team Melikyan represented in the EuroCup just a few days earlier.
