Armenia’s Young Boxers Make a Successful Start at International Tournament in Georgia

Armenia’s youth boxing team is taking part in the Akaki Kakuraidze International Tournament, which is being held in Georgia. This year, 150 boxers from 9 countries are registered for the competition.
The Armenian team arrived at the tournament with a strong squad of 15 athletes under the leadership of head coach Karen Aghamalyan. The coaching staff also includes Serob Karapetyan and David Davtyan.
On the opening day of the competition, 6 representatives of Armenia entered the ring. Armenia’s boxers started the tournament very successfully, with 5 out of 6 athletes securing victories.
Tigran Kirakosyan delivered a confident and impressive performance in the 50 kg weight category, defeating an opponent from Azerbaijan. Vahram Dovlatbekyan, Hayk Karapetyan, and Yuri Mailyan won by a wide margin against representatives of Georgia. Another victory for the Armenian team was earned by Suren Katvalyan, who proved stronger than a boxer from Kyrgyzstan.
