Former Armenian national team footballer Aras Ozbiliz made a statement on social media after Armenia's crushing 1-6 defeat against Georgia, demanding a change in the leadership of the Football Federation of Armenia.
"A year and three months ago, I ran for the presidency of the Football Federation of Armenia, knowing that I had no chance of winning. I remained silent for a long time, but I can no longer stay quiet because you are destroying Armenian football.
Back then, you said, 'Ozbilis has no management experience.' But it is precisely in this matter that you have completely failed – and with each passing time, even more so. You lack an understanding of football – that is obvious. But what is even worse is that you are also incompetent in management. You have failed in administration, marketing, finance, and legal matters.
But the most terrifying thing is that people have lost hope and faith.
In football, you can win and lose. But today's situation is a direct consequence of your work.
It is time for change!" wrote Aras Ozbiliz on his social media.
It should be noted that Aras Ozbilis ran for the presidency of the Football Federation of Armenia in 2023 but lost the election to Armen Melikbekyan. He is currently working within the structure of the "Urartu" club.
Aras Ozbilis has played 41 matches and scored 6 goals for the Armenian national team.
