Cyprus national team head coach Apostolos Mantzios has announced a 27-man squad for the final UEFA Nations League group-stage matches against Armenia and Montenegro. Among the players called up is 25-year-old FC Pyunik Yerevan striker Yasonas Pikis, who has received his first senior international call-up.
Pikis is enjoying a productive season in the Armenian Premier League and has established himself as one of Pyunik's key attacking players. In the team's latest match against Van (3-0) in Round 13, the Cypriot forward found the net, scoring his ninth league goal of the season.
The striker now has an opportunity to make his senior international debut in Yerevan, the city where he currently plays his club football.
In addition to Pikis, two other players have received their first call-ups to the Cyprus national team: Zano Savva and Morgan Brown. The latter was born in England, has spent more than five years playing in the Cypriot league, and recently obtained Cypriot citizenship.
