Armenian freestyle wrestler Vazgen Tevanyan (65 kg) has finished his participation in the 2025 World Championships in Zagreb.

The 25-year-old bronze medalist of the 2023 World Championships from Armenia lost in the first round to Abdulmajid Kadiev of Tajikistan with a score of 8:14. Later, Kadiev was defeated by Uzbekistan’s Umidjon Jalolov (4:8), eliminating Tevanyan’s chances for repechage matches.

In the Armenian national team, only Arsen Harutyunyan (57 kg) continues to compete for a medal. He will face Mexico’s Ramon Bravo Young in the bronze medal match today.

It is worth noting that the Greco-Roman wrestling tournament will begin on September 18.
