World Wrestling Championship 2025 (Freestyle): Results of Day Two, First Champions Crowned

On September 14 in Zagreb, the World Freestyle Wrestling Championship 2025 held the finals in four weight categories: 61, 70, 86, and 125 kg. In addition, preliminary and semifinal bouts took place in four other weights: 57, 74, 79, and 92 kg.

Wrestlers from Russia, Japan, USA, and Iran became world champions.

In the Armenian national team, Arman Andreasyan (70 kg) fought for bronze but lost to a representative of Kyrgyzstan.

Semifinal Results (Day Two)

The second competition day delivered several exciting matches, with the main surprises coming in the 57 kg category.
Arsen Harutyunyan confidently defeated Olympic silver medalist Spencer Lee (USA) 14:3, but in the semifinal he unexpectedly lost to a wrestler from North Korea. In the other semifinal, Olympic bronze medalist Gulomjon Abdullaev (Uzbekistan) was shut out 0:8 by Kyrgyz wrestler Bekzat Almaz Uulu.

In the 74 kg category, a principled rematch took place between Chermen Valiev (Albania) and Zaurbek Sidakov (Russia). Once again, Valiev claimed victory.

By the end of the day, the finalists for September 15 included two wrestlers from the USA, as well as one each from Russia, North Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Greece, Albania, and Japan.
