Vazgen Tevanyan and Arman Andreasyan Win Medals at Poland Open 2026

Armenian freestyle wrestlers Arman Andreasyan and Vazgen Tevanyan won medals at the Poland Open 2026 international tournament.
Both Armenian wrestlers competed in the 70 kg weight category. Andreasyan claimed the silver medal, while Tevanyan earned bronze. American wrestler Zain Retherford won gold in the division.
Andreasyan and Tevanyan also faced each other during the tournament. Andreasyan prevailed in a closely contested bout, winning 3-2.
Andreasyan then defeated opponents from Canada and Ukraine to reach the final, where he lost to Retherford 1-4.
Tevanyan did not lose another bout after his defeat to Andreasyan. The Armenian wrestler defeated Narek Poghosyan of Ukraine, as well as opponents from the United States, Georgia and another Ukrainian wrestler, finishing the tournament with a bronze medal.
Manvel Khndzrtsyan also represented Armenia in the 61 kg weight category. He finished 12th after losing both of his bouts to opponents from the United States and Ukraine.
