Van claims first win of the season

Football club Van secured their first victory of the current Armenian Premier League season. After an opening draw against Ararat-Armenia, Edgar Torosyan’s side narrowly defeated Ararat 1-0 in Yerevan.

The decisive goal came from 20-year-old Brazilian defender Daniel Eriki Rodrigues Bento, who found the net with a brilliant strike in the 49th minute.

After two rounds, Van have 4 points, while Ararat, with just 1 point, sit in the lower part of the table.

It’s worth noting that before the start of the season, Van underwent a complete overhaul — all the players and the management staff left for Alashkert. The club built a brand-new squad from scratch and made a successful start to the new campaign.
