Vallejo Surprised by Xabi Alonso’s Dismissal from Real Madrid

Former Real Madrid defender Jesús Vallejo was shocked by the news of Xabi Alonso’s dismissal from the position of head coach of Real Madrid.

During a live broadcast, Vallejo was informed about the club’s decision to part ways with the Spanish specialist. Until that moment, the footballer had known nothing about it and reacted with clear surprise.

“Really? You must be joking. I understand that Barcelona won the Super Cup, but his plan was working and the team fought until the last minute. I didn’t work with him, but at the Club World Cup he did a good job. This is bad news,” Vallejo said on air.

Xabi Alonso was dismissed after Real Madrid’s 2–3 defeat to Barcelona in the Spanish Super Cup final. Álvaro Arbeloa has been appointed as the new head coach of the Royal Club.

Currently, the 29-year-old Jesús Vallejo plays for Albacete in LaLiga 2.
