Changes Possible in the Armenian National Team: Head Coach Armen Babalaryan
Wrestling 💬 Comment

The head coach of Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestling national team, Armen Babalaryan, gave a positive assessment of the national championship results, which concluded on December 23 in Charentsavan, in an interview with Armenpress.

According to the specialist, the tournament left a very good impression on him, primarily due to the emergence of new athletes.

“I really liked the championship. New young athletes have appeared. This is encouraging, because there can be several wrestlers in each weight category, which will lead to healthy competition within the team. The championship was very well organized by both the Wrestling Federation of Armenia and the Charentsavan municipality. Changes are possible in the Armenian national team — I already see new wrestlers in 3–4 weight categories,” Babalaryan noted.

The coach also emphasized that the leaders of the national team — Artur Aleksanyan, Slavik Galstyan, and Malkhas Amoyan — did not participate in the 2025 Armenian Championship.

It should be recalled that the Armenian Greco-Roman Wrestling Championship ended on December 23 in Charentsavan, while the freestyle wrestling tournament will conclude on December 24.
