Armenia to Host International Futsal Tournament Ahead of EURO 2026

From December 21 to 24, Yerevan will host an international futsal tournament featuring four national teams — Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Kyrgyzstan. The competition will serve as an important stage in the teams’ preparations for upcoming major tournaments.
Preparation for EURO 2026
For Armenia and Georgia, the tournament is part of their buildup to the 2026 UEFA Futsal EURO, which will take place from January 21 to February 7 in Latvia, Lithuania and Slovenia.
Armenia has reached the continental championship for the first time in its history and will play in Group B against Lithuania, Czechia and Ukraine. Georgia will compete in Group A alongside Croatia, Latvia and France.
Preparation for the 2028 World Cup
The national teams of Moldova and Kyrgyzstan will use the Yerevan tournament as preparation for the 2028 FIFA Futsal World Cup qualifiers, which begin in October 2026. Armenia will also take part in those qualifiers, but for now the team is fully focused on EURO 2026.
