Urartu claimed a convincing 2–0 victory over Alashkert in Matchday 15 of the Armenian Premier League.
Robert Arzumanyan’s team opened the scoring thanks to Karen Melkonyan’s precise shot after an assist from Narek Aghasaryan — it was the forward’s second goal of the current season. In the 44th minute, league top scorer Bruno Michel doubled the lead, netting his 13th goal of the campaign.
Late in the match, Urartu goalkeeper Aleksandr Mishiev, who has Armenian roots, became the hero by saving a penalty and keeping a clean sheet. Urartu remains the most defensively solid team in the league: after 15 rounds, the club has conceded only 8 goals — the best record in the championship.
The victory lifted Urartu to 2 place, allowing them to draw level with Alashkert on points. Ararat-Armenia leads the table with 31 points.
