UEFA has officially presented the design of the playing courts for the final tournament of the 2026 UEFA European Futsal Championship, which will take place from January 21 to February 7 in Lithuania, Latvia, and Slovenia.
According to UEFA’s official website, the color schemes of the courts reflect the national identity of all three host countries and highlight the organization’s commitment to strengthening the visual identity of futsal and enhancing the tournament’s appeal.
Each host country has received its own unique stylized perimeter design:
- In Riga, it features Latvia’s traditional red color;
- In Kaunas, the yellow color of the upper stripe of the Lithuanian flag is used;
- In Ljubljana, a light green shade symbolizes Slovenia’s forests and nature.
The Armenia national team will play its group-stage matches in Kaunas, where the court is designed in the colors of the Lithuanian flag. Armenia will compete in Group B alongside Ukraine, Czechia, and Lithuania.
UEFA recalled that it first radically changed the appearance of futsal courts back in 2010, when it introduced a black playing surface at the European Championship in Hungary—an innovation that later became a hallmark of the UEFA Futsal Champions League finals. Since then, a standard dark blue 40×20-meter court has been used for national team tournaments, complemented by unique graphics depending on the host country.
Another notable innovation at EURO 2026 will be the placement of a tournament partner’s logo—Qatar Airways—on the perimeter of the court for the first time.
UEFA emphasizes that the individual court designs, successfully implemented at previous tournaments (neon green in Slovenia in 2018 and bright orange in the Netherlands in 2022), are part of a long-term strategy to develop futsal and create a vivid, recognizable image of the competition both inside the arenas and for television audiences worldwide.
