On April 24, the BetCity Fight Nights 136 tournament took place in Rostov-on-Don, where three Armenian athletes entered the ring. The evening delivered spectacular knockouts, intense fights, and even controversial judging decisions.
Markaryan’s Spectacular Knockout
Eduard Markaryan secured one of the most impressive victories of the night by knocking out Akim Bartenev in the second round. The decisive moment came after a perfectly timed spinning kick that left his opponent with no chance.

Undefeated Armenian fighter from Rostov, Eduard Bagratunyan (11-0), faced a tough challenge against Magomedrasul Gidzhimagomedov (3-1).
The bout went the full three rounds and ended with a unanimous decision victory for the 23-year-old Armenian fighter — 29-28.

Petrosyan Eliminated in Grand Prix Quarterfinal
Former UFC fighter Armen Petrosyan (9-7) failed to advance in the heavyweight Grand Prix, losing to Mikhail Kolobegov (16-8).
The fight went the distance and ended in a unanimous decision victory for Kolobegov: 30-27, 30-27, 29-28.
Controversial Decision and Judge’s Explanation
After the fight, an unusual moment occurred: promotion head Kamil Gadzhiev invited the chief judge into the ring to explain the result, as part of the audience and Petrosyan himself disagreed with the decision.
The judge explained:
- The fighters were equal in technical performance
- Advantage was given to Kolobegov for being the aggressor
- The decisive factor was control against the cage
