Tigran Avanesyan to Return to the Armenian National Team

Tula Arsenal midfielder Tigran Avanesyan has been called up to the Armenian national team for the upcoming friendly matches against Kosovo (June 6) and Montenegro (June 9), reports Metaratings.ru.
Previously, Avanesyan had not been called up under former head coach Oleksandr Petrakov. The reason was his refusal to join the national team camp while playing for Kaliningrad's Baltika, citing the importance of matches in the First League, which does not include an international break.
This winter, the 23-year-old midfielder joined Tula Arsenal and has already played 9 matches for the club. He may now be looking to correct his past mistake and regain the trust of the fans and the national team coaching staff. His call-up is especially relevant due to the injury suffered today by Ugochukwu Iwu in a match against Khimki. It remains unknown whether Iwu will be available for the June fixtures, and Avanesyan could become a potential replacement.
The Armenian national team continues its preparation for the World Cup qualifiers, using friendlies to test the lineup and build on-field chemistry.
Avanesyan has 1 cap for the national team.
