Ugochukwu Iwu injured in match against Khimki

Armenian national team and Rubin Kazan midfielder Ugochukwu Iwu sustained a calf muscle injury in the 34th minute of the Russian Premier League Round 29 match against Khimki.
The 25-year-old midfielder left the pitch on a stretcher with the score at 1–1. He was replaced by Oleg Ivanov. Prior to the substitution, Iwu had requested medical assistance several times following a collision in midfield.
The severity of the injury is currently unknown. Iwu is expected to miss the final match of the season. His participation in Armenia’s upcoming friendlies against Kosovo (June 6) and Montenegro (June 9) is also in doubt.
