Tigran Avanesyan to Undergo a Trial at Orenburg

Defensive midfielder of Arsenal Tula and the Armenia national team Tigran Avanesyan may continue his career in the Russian Premier League.

According to the Telegram channel “FNL with Ilyev”, the 23-year-old footballer is expected to arrive at Orenburg’s training camp today, where he will undergo a trial. It is reported that the Tula club has given permission for the player to take part in the RPL team’s training camp.

It is noted that Arsenal Tula would have preferred a permanent transfer of Avanesyan to Sokol Saratov, which had previously shown concrete interest in the player. However, the Saratov club will now have to pause negotiations, as the Armenia international was considered their main candidate for the defensive midfield position, especially amid stalled talks regarding Torpedo Moscow midfielder Vladimir Moskvichev.

This season, Avanesyan has made 15 appearances in the Russian First League for Arsenal Tula. He has also played three matches for the Armenia national team.

It is worth recalling that Orenburg already has another Armenian midfielder in its squad — Pavel Gorelov, who previously represented the Armenia U21 national team.
