Tevanyan and Andreasyan Medal at Ranking Tournament in Budapest

Arman Andreasyan and Vazgen Tevanyan became medalists at the fourth freestyle wrestling ranking tournament held in Budapest, Hungary. Both Armenian national team representatives finished the competition with medals.
In the 70 kg weight class, Arman Andreasyan had a strong tournament, winning three consecutive matches to reach the final. In the decisive bout, he lost 0:8 to Japan's Yoshinosuke Aoyagi, earning a silver medal. This result brought not only a medal for Armenia but also important ranking points for a favorable draw at the upcoming 2025 World Championship.
Competing in the 65 kg division, Vazgen Tevanyan started with two confident wins but lost in the semifinals to India’s Sujeet, who went on to win gold. In the bronze medal match, Tevanyan convincingly defeated French wrestler of Chechen origin Hamzat Arsamerzoev 9:0.

Next on the mat in Budapest will be Armenia’s Greco-Roman wrestlers. On July 19, Karen Aslanyan (63 kg), Samvel Grigoryan (82 kg), and Hayk Khloyan (97 kg) will represent the country.
